Avenue Rugs was established in 1997 by Charlie Chartier as a division of Chartier and Associates, Inc. The company was created to provide a source of sustainable, attractive custom wool rugs and carpet engineered to meet the demanding performance aesthetic of commercial interiors.
From a sustainable perspective, Avenue Rugs are made of natural materials: wool, cotton, and silk which are compostable at the end of their useful life. This product may contribute toward a U.S. Green Building Council LEED credit under Materials & Resources Credit 6 Rapidly Renewable Materials. To qualify, 2.5% - 5% of the materials used in the project must be planted, grown, and harvested in less than 10 years. In the case of Avenue Rugs, it is a 1 year cycle!
Avenue Rugs is a wholly owned U.S. company headquartered in Louisiana.
